Throughout his years of studying thousands of horses, Doug Carpenter developed a very accurate tell that would signify if a horse was going to be a big stopper. He’d watch the horses walk, paying particular attention to their hind ends. If they walked really wide behind, they were going to be big, powerful stoppers.
