Among The Onaqui Mustangs

Video Provided By:

Great video and photography of the Onaqui Mustangs.  You’ll enjoy this footage. A short film shot in 2015 among the Onaqui Mustangs, a wild herd in the western Utah desert. In 1971 the US Congress passed a law requiring the Secretary of the Interior to preserve, protect, and manage wild, free-roaming horses and burros on public lands in the West. Members of the herd are mostly descendants of animals that strayed from tappers, pioneers, and ranchers over the past centuries; however, the ancestry of some animals can be traced to stock brought to the Americas by Spanish conquistadors in the 1500s. The population of the Onaqui herd varies from year to year, but in spring of 2015 it numbered over 150
