Hey Dressage Superstar, contact is so hard to understand especially when you are learning. Ideally when your horse is through and where you want it to be and soft, you want the contact to be 1 gram in each hand – the horse is not leaning on your hands and the horse is doing all the work and using his body correctly – the contact feels really light!
