Dutch immigrant Harry deLeyer traveled to the United States after World War II and developed a transformative relationship with an Amish draft horse that he rescued from a truck. Harry paid $80 and named him Snowman.
In less than two years, they won the triple crown of show jumping, outperforming blue-blooded nations and soon became famous, traveling around the world. Their chance meeting at a horse auction in Pennsylvania saved both of them, creating a friendship that lasted a lifetime.
Now, at 86 years old, Harry recounts his story firsthand while continuing to train on the jumping circuit with Snowman.
