Zoetis and the American Quarter Horse Association and have named its 2013 Best Remuda Award recipient, Matador Ranch of Matador, Texas. Founded in 1883 by a group of Scottish investors and later purchased by Fred C. Koch, the Matador is 130,000 acres of rolling plains and rocky canyons in the Texas caprock. The Best Remuda award began in 1992 and each year recognizes an outstanding ranch for its efforts in raising American Quarter Horses, an important tool of their trade.
