Tye Sturgeon began his solo horseback ride across America for children’s charities in 2014 at age 19 going on 20. He began ‘The American Wish Ride’ in his hometown of Batesville, Arkansas. Over the past two years he has ridden 3,600 miles and has currently made it through 13 states. Tye plans to continue his ride into ALL 48 Lower States to raise money for New Horizon Ranch (therapeutic riding center) and Western Wishes.
Born and raised in North Central Arkansas, Tye is a quiet, soft spoken young man with a quick smile and big warm heart. Knowing there are so many young people out there that may never get the chance to live and experience their dreams. This inspired Tye to embark on the epic journey of ‘The American Wish Ride’ to help make these children’s wishes come true.
With the help of his horse Edward and new horse, Rudy. Tye will be starting the next leg of his journey very soon. He is so thankful to all the wonderful folks who opened their homes, hearts and pastures along the way. But he needs your help and continued support to keep going!
