The horse has a stellar record winning two of his four-race starts. Russian Camelot’s last win came in the Hyland Race Colours Underwood Stakes at Caulfield. The September win came just a few weeks after a second-place finish at Flemington Racecourse in the PFD Food Services Makybe Diva Stakes.
The Irish-trained horse has been labelled as the best ever that O’Brien’s has trained. O’Brien produced the winners of the Melbourne Cup 2019 (Vow And Declare) and VRC Oaks 2019 (Miami Bound). To claim that Russian Camelot is the best he has ever had is truly high praise.
Russian Camelot isn’t just the odds-on favourite to win the Melbourne Cup, but sportsbooks’ favourite to land the Cox Plate 2020, too. The Cox Plate is the lead-up race to the Melbourne Cup 2020. The race will take place on October 24th and Russian Camelot will have nine days to prepare for the second Melbourne Cup.

The race took place at Flemington with jockey Craig Williams in the saddle. Williams was atop of Surprise Baby for the last two races, a second-place and ninth-place finish, respectively.
International runner Tiger Moth will compete in the Melbourne Cup 2020. Tiger Moth claimed a win in September at Leopardstown in the Paddy Power “Is It 2021 Yet?” Stakes. Trainer Aiden O’Brien has six horses set to compete at the Melbourne Cup.
Tiger Moth and other international competitors heading to Australia for the festival have already entered a two-week quarantine. The isolation lasts from October 2nd to October 17th. Tiger Moth was re-handicapped from 50 kilograms to 52.5 kilograms for the Melbourne Cup. O’Brien’s other potential Melbourne Cup runners include Anthony van Dyck and Santiago. Tiger Moth is 10/1 to win the Melbourne Cup 2020.
Jockey Kerrin McEvoy will ride Tiger Moth for the race after leaving the Godolphin racing syndicate. McEvoy won the St. Ledger in England while riding for Godolphin.
