Ending So Suddenly – Goodbye Spyro

Video Provided By:  gezzcanezz

It’s always sad when you sell a horse, but Spyro went to a great home with a rider that can excel and they can grow together.  Touching tribute, I’ve owned many horses throughout my life and can relate. After owning Spyro for a year and 3 months I made the heartbreaking decision to put her up for sale last month. When I first bought Spyro I had intended to eventually sell her on once she was broken in. I ended up keeping her for much longer than I expected because I fell in love with her. She was one of the sweetest ponies I’ve ever had the privilege to know and I enjoyed owning her so much. I would have loved to have kept her forever, however I came to realise that she was ready to move on to a new home where she could take a younger rider forward. I am 23 and Spyro was only 14hh so I would never have been able to seriously compete her, I also was big on her and although she was able to carry me fine I know she will have a much more enjoyable life with a lighter rider. I’ve sold her to a 13 year old girl who absolutely adores her and they are doing great together so far! (she doesn’t have youtube so please don’t ask). I am still in contact with her new owner and hope I will continue to be. I will always love Spyro and wish her all the luck in the world for her future. I hope I gave her the best possible start to her career! Sorry this video isn’t great, I had limited clips as my computer crashed a while ago plus I found it difficult to edit so I didn’t dwell on it too long! And to answer the big question, yes I will be getting another project horse/pony but I won’t be looking until March 2015. I am going to be looking for another connemara to bring on but would consider any breed or height. Hoping to find something between 14.2 and 15.2!
