5 Horses To Follow For The 2018 Grand National

5 Horses To Follow For The 2018 Grand National

With the 2018 Grand National dates of 12th-14th April looming closer, it’s time to start keeping a close eye on the horses and start debating on who you’re going to place your bets on. This year, we will see a lot of horses returning after last year, although last year’s winner One For Arthur will not be making an appearance. So, with so much potential present in this year’s Grand National, who should you put your bets on? Here, we’re offering free horse racing tips, giving you insights into the potential winners!

1. SeeYouAtMidnight

SeeYouAtMidnight doesn’t seem to be the name on every bookie’s lips, however we’d say that this horse has a fair chance this year. Winning three of his first five starts over fences in both 2015 and 2016, as well as coming third in the Scottish Grand National, SeeYouAtMidnight is a horse worth watching this year. This horse seems to be a smaller favourite due to his injury however, now that he’s recovered to his best, he has a fair chance of coming out on top at this year’s Grand National.

2.Total Recall

Before last September, Total Recall didn’t show much promise at all, however a change in jockey has changed this completely. With Willie Mullins, Total Recall has already won three races on the bounce, starting with his win at the Minster National at Limerick in October. Total Recall has definitely proved his exceptional form in big-field handicaps, and is only looking to improve leading up to the Grand National this year.

3. Blaklion

Blaklion is definitely a force to be reckoned with, as he already came forth in last year’s Grand National, and has a year to practice for this one. With a more conservation ride compared to last year, you’re almost guaranteed to see an improvement with his performance this year. Despite haven’t a higher mark of 9lb, Blaklion is definitely a horse to keep an eye on this year, especially considering his numerous wins at the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby and at the Becher Chase.

4. The Last Samuri

Another horse that is returning to this year’s Grand National after last year is The Last Samuri, coming 16th last year, but 2nd the year before! This season, The Last Samuri appears to be in great form, giving him more than enough potential to snatch the top spot this year. This horse is actually 2lb better off approaching the Grand National this year, which could give him a competitive advantage over opponents. You know what they say – third time’s a charm!

5. Cause Of Causes

Another highly successful horse that’s featured in the Grand National previously is Cause Of Causes, getting pipped to the post by One For Arthur last year and taking the second spot. Although his weight is bound to increase by entering the 2018 Grand National, we would say he still has a fighting chance in the competition. While he might not show form very often throughout the rest of the year, he always seems to up the ante during the Grand National.

Those who aren’t even avid sports bettors enjoy Grand National action, due to its highly popular status around the world. For those wanting to secure a hefty profit however, you’ll want to think long and hard about which horse is most likely to come out on top, so we hope our insights have helped!
